Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor, American producer and actress. She graduated with a BA in Brown University in African-American Studies. At the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she received an MFA. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actress as well as a producer and director. She is employed in film and television. She began her acting career with theater, and was later featured in several shows on television as well as independent and mainstream movies. The actress was famous for her role as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as in BET's huge The Book of Negroes. The series both received praise from critics, and she also took home a variety of awards. Her first professional performance was as Ariel as Ariel as Ariel, The Tempest. Her credits on stage include the Broadway production of the Joe Turner musical Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In her film career, she is best known for her roles in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In television, her role on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
